How do I add ads to Wordpress
How to add Google AdSense to WordPress
Making money from a WordPress site often involves affiliate marketing, advertising, or e-commerce. Sometimes it even involves selling memberships, creating job boards or hosting events.
Many people think ads are old news in the world of making money, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Ads are especially useful for monetizing online magazines, blogs, and websites that aren't directly selling a physical product.
Since sponsored posts are often considered dirty by users, and affiliate marketing can also generate red flags depending on how they're presented, we keep coming back to ads. Given that tools like AdSense make it a lot easier to implement than it used to be, it's no wonder ads aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
The most interesting thing is that AdSense doesn't cost any money to implement. So you can at least test the water and see if you can make money on it. At the same time, you have the opportunity to see whether your users find the ads annoying. To make sure your users aren't bothered, it is important to learn how to use AdSense effectively for WordPress. But before we dive into setting up ads, let's get a little familiar with Google Adsense and see how you sign up.
What is Google AdSense?
Google AdSense is a popular website monetization program and a great option for beginners and professionals alike.
Google AdSense is a Google program that enables marketers (referred to as publishers in the program) to serve ads seamlessly on their websites and blogs. The main purpose is monetization. You can use it to make money on WordPress by simply serving special ads on your website.
If you are a marketer, there are some similar programs you can choose from instead. However, AdSense has some unique advantages:
- Credibility: As a world famous company, you can't be more credible than Google.
- Versatility: AdSense offers a number of types of ads including text, images, rich media, video, and audio.
- Flexibility: This program works with a number of platforms and other tools, including WordPress and Blogger.
Before you start, AdSense has a number of policies you will want to review. At the same time, there are some requirements for your advertisers. For example, you must have a well-established website (at least six months old) and be at least 18 years old.
If you're ready to get started with AdSense, you'll be happy to know the process is easy. In fact, it can be completed in just three steps.
Step 1: Sign in to Google AdSense
Since AdSense is a program on the Google platform, you only need a Google account to be able to use the various functions. When to sign up for Google AdSense You have two options. You can sign in with an existing Google Account or create a new one.
Both actions can be performed from the login page. If you already have an account, just add your credentials and click check in. If you need to create an account, click More optionsand choose Create an account in the popup menu:
Once you've signed in (or completed the registration process), move on to the next step in the program.
Step 2: Complete Your AdSense Program Application
As with any affiliate program, you will be asked to fill out an application. Fortunately, the process is straightforward and can be completed in minutes.
We encourage you to read and understand AdSense policies and terms first. While this is a step you might want to skip, it is important to understand exactly what Google expects from its users. This is because you must follow all guidelines and guidelines if you are approved as a publisher.
You can then fill out the three-part application. You must first enter basic information, such as: B. the URL of your website. You will then be asked to provide your payment address (so AdSense can send you payments and important account information). Finally, you will be asked to verify your phone number.
Once these three request pages are complete, there is only one more step left before Google will review your website. You will be asked to add HTML code to your website, provided in the format shown below:
When the code has been added to your site, check the box to confirm the action has completed and click Done. Now all you can do is wait patiently. It can take 48 hours to two weeks to review your application. Once the decision has been made, you will receive an email.
Step 3: Create Google AdSense Ads
After the application is complete, you can sign up for AdSense to start rolling. The AdSense dashboard shows several tabs on the left, but the only one to worry about right now is this My ads Tongue. Click on it to continue.
If you've never created an ad before, you'll see a blank page. Click on that New ad unit to generate an ad and adapt it to your website.
The first step is to name your ad. This will not be shown on your website so mainly name it for reference. It will then show the recommended sizes for your ads. Feel free to choose the one you think is most suitable.
At the same time, you must indicate whether you want a text and graphic display or just one or the other. Text ads do not contain images. So choose them carefully.
Next you will be asked what you want the design to look like. In general, I go for the standard style as it is known to convert quite well. However, some of the other colors and designs may be better seen on your own website. The good thing is that they have a preview button to see how it will look.
Google AdSense offers several predefined styles. However, you can customize any design element in an ad, as shown in the following screenshot. For example, you can change the title color, url color, border, and font family.
If you want to group multiple ad units (for tracking purposes) you can open the Custom Channels section to do that. At the same time, you have the option of creating backup ads. Basically, this refers to the fact that AdSense will show a blank ad if something relevant doesn't come to it. If you'd rather see a standard ad, you can create it here.
After this process, click to save y Get code Button.
Expert advice: Google AdSense now offers the ability to choose a fully responsive ad module that will make your ads easily respond to different sized mobile devices and screens. Personally, I would go with it every time. At the same time, however, the 336 × 280 and 300 × 260 dimensions are known to work well in terms of customization to your website and conversion.
Step 4: implement AdSense on your website
While there are other less efficient ways, there are essentially three ways you can add your Google Adsense ads to your WordPress site:
- Insert ads by copy and paste Your ad unit code on widgets, pages, and posts.
- Buy a WordPress theme which is compatible with Google AdSense.
- Download and activate a plug that integrates Google AdSense.
Ideally, the two seconds are the easiest because many themes and plugins don't require you to constantly copy and paste code into widgets. Additionally, some themes have preset modules that make ads look nice and more likely to be clicked. But let's look at everyone.
Method 1: Copy your Google Adsense code and paste it into a widget
The first method is copy and paste. The code given in the previous section will be used to copy on your website cakes by copying this AdSense code.
Next, open your WordPress dashboard. Walk Appearance> Widgets.
Most likely, you are adding an ad in the sidebar or above the header. In this example I want to add the ad to the sidebar. Hence, you can drag the text widget into this area of the sidebar and paste the code you copied earlier.
There is no need to fill in the Title field as this is an ad.
After that, you can update your website to show new and relevant AdSense ads on your website.
Method 2: Use a Theme with Adsense Areas
Although I won't recommend certain themes, you can first search for «AdSense themes for WordPress» in the ThemeForest library.
At the same time, you are lucky in the following places:
- Thematic forest
Although you could only have our overall theme, definitely. It's SEO optimized and has tons of great page building features that you can use to embed Google ads on your posts and pages. And we even developed a useful snippet to add a banner ad above or below blog posts (documents in total).
Method 3: install a Google Adsense plugin
Using a widget for AdSense is the most basic of all methods, and a theme doesn't give you much flexibility in how you place your ads. However, a plugin can serve as a better solution if you want additional functionality for your ads. For example, some plugins eliminate the need to copy and paste code, while others generate reports and make settings for selecting the time period.
Many Google AdSense plugins have come and gone in the past, but let's take a look at the most promising ones today.
