However, if we do not say about the "average" car, but about the model of certain brands, it can be pointed out that the reliability can vary within very large limits depending on the year of release. For example, if you take the view of TOV rating, Renault's reliability, which has dropped significantly over the past decade, is Renault. In the 2004 report, the Laguna and Megane models of four-five-year-olds are in very decent places - on the Audi A6 and BMW level of the 5th series. Of the used cars surveyed, only 10.5% Laguna and 11.3% Megan had serious malfunctions. After years, the situation has changed radically.
In the 2013 report, the Lagoon and Meganas at the age of four or five were already at the bottom of the list with numbers up 18% and 23%, respectively. Even under the Renault Kangoo (23.2%), well, the unreliable machine is recognized as a related Dacia-Logan (25.8%).
A similar drop in quality is also observed at Citroen. A real surprise was the fact that even such models were hit, which, on the contrary, was named most strongly in other rankings. The worst dozen cars, from a warranty point of view, look like this:
