It can happen: a funny round somewhere, a school ball ..., you would like to dance, but actually you can't even really waltz.
Stop it. This module offers an introduction to the world of ballroom dancing. These are both the "classic" dances such as the waltz, foxtrot or the jagged tango as well as the Latin American dances such as boogie, ChaCha, rumba or samba.
The aim is to recognize the common dances and to master the respective basic step and the basic figures.
Contents of the module can be assigned to the curriculum for exercise and sport as follows:

YOU decide with which topics you want to experience the three-dimensional space.
You wake up every day. During the day you use various everyday objects (your wardrobe, your entrance door, ...) and also technical devices (from toasters to your smartphone). Have you ever wondered how all these objects are made? You experience the room every day. In this module you have the possibility to represent the room as a model.
3D printing, model construction of geometric objects up to virtual modeling and visualization with CAD software will be featured in this module.
We make models (e.g. of Platonic solids), play a three-dimensional variant of the well-known game "4 wins", use origami technology, model and visualize 3D objects in a CAD program, think about how to create 3D objects in a plane represents, and much more.
Excursions to 3D printers e.g. B. in the HappyLab (http://www.happylab.at) are just as possible as exploring the outdoor space with the help of GPS coordinates. What GPS coordinates does the Neulandschule have?
Do you have other or other spatial geometry ideas? Would you like to deal with interdisciplinary geometric topics? Then you are right with this module. Your ideas are guaranteed to flow into the module!

As with the "Vienna-Mariazell" module, we will once again tackle a very beautiful long-distance hiking trail this year. We will cover the almost one hundred kilometers from Krems to Melk past castles, ruins and palaces almost continuously with a great view of one of the most beautiful sections of the Danube as part of a blocked 4-day module (15-18 September 2016). You can return either directly by train or first by boat through the Wachau and then home.

Multi-day module from September 15 to September 18, 2016
Nature, mountain experiences, adventure and research in the Gesäuse National Park.
Expected program:
We will climb to the Haindlkarhütte (1121 m) (approx. 1.5 hours) and explore the alpine habitat there, accompanied by national park rangers. There are also some adventurous tasks to be solved. You will spend the night in the camp at the hut and in the mattress dorm at the Gstatterboden campsite (2nd, 3rd night).
You will get a research assignment, then you have to find research questions and do practical scientific work (in the nature of the national park).
Forces of nature (mudslides, rockslides, avalanches, ...) are also discussed and experiments are carried out.

The musical "Kiss me, Kate", from which the title comes, is just one example of the fact that countless writers, librettists and screenwriters would have had a few ideas without William Shakespeare. In numerous films and plays, which at first glance no one would associate with the English poet from the 16th century, the connoisseur quickly recognizes Shakespeare's texts (e.g. in the films "She's the man" and " 10 things I hate about you "). We want to deal with the unbelievable impact of this author, who was voted best European playwright in a public vote by the TV station "arte" in 2008, and trace his "legacy" in various works of the most varied genres.

Do you like to write creative texts and do you like traveling by train? Then this module is the right place for you! If you decide to do this, you will travel by train in Vienna, Lower Austria and / or Burgenland on three days (with various stays and two overnight stays) and let yourself be inspired by what you have seen and experienced for your texts. When you return, your creative travel folder will be full. As the end product, we then create a brochure with the best texts (with at least one from each participant).

Friends of horror and horror literature are right in this module. Stories of this genre from the 18th century to the present will keep us busy, with both the original works and their film adaptations on the program. Classics by Mary Shelley (Frankenstein) via Edgar Allen Poe, E.T.A.Hoffmann to Bram Stoker (Dracula) are just as possible themes as works by Steven King, Thomas Harris or Susan Hill (The Woman in Black). What we will deal with in detail will be decided together at the beginning. It will also be possible to write your own horror story.

Franz Kafka was born in Prague on July 3, 1883. Even today, many buildings, monuments and exhibitions commemorate the famous writer. Together we want to explore Prague in the footsteps of Kafka and visit the most important places from his life.
