This means that nobody has yet investigated whether this one-sided form of nutrition is not associated with, for example, an increased cholesterol level, which in turn can have a negative effect on cardiovascular diseases.

What effects does the meat diet have on the body?

Why does the diet work in the opinion of meat eaters? The body goes into a state of ketosis: This is what it is called when the body burns fat because it has no carbohydrates available. This means that he is hardly subject to blood sugar fluctuations from avoiding carbohydrates and he has lower overall insulin levels. As with the ketogenic diet, this has a positive effect on a person's mood and performance.

And the meat diet is an elimination diet. According to its supporters, this diet automatically avoids foods that could have a negative impact on health. If you like, you can also eat the internal organs of animals such as the liver and brain. These are extremely rich in nutrients, but are rather avoided by followers of the Carnivore diet. If you want to expand your menu, that's called the Zero Carb Diet, you can also eat fish, cheese, eggs, bacon fried in butter and dairy products.

What does the meat diet mean for the environment?

There is no question that a diet that consists primarily of meat is not environmentally friendly. Even if the meat is bought regionally, even if it does not come from factory farming, an enormous amount of water and feed is still used for its production.
