What Dubai is a developed country

Burj Khalifa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

HOCHTIEF subsidiary Turner took on construction management for the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, currently the tallest building in the world. Hotels, apartments, offices and retail outlets can be found under one roof on 162 floors. At peak times, 12,000 people from over 100 countries were working on the construction at the same time. Since the concrete must not heat up too much during concreting, concreting was only carried out at night. A continuous pumping system and a newly developed superplasticizer made it possible to pump the concrete 601 meters into the air without interruption.
