How to get tested for ADD ADHD

ADHD test

Symptoms must have been present for at least six months to be diagnosed. Ideally, the child will be "judged" by different people and in different environments, because then the result is more meaningful. We recommend that this online questionnaire be answered separately by several caregivers. Please compare the results!

This questionnaire is based on the "Diagnostic Criteria for Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorders" as set out in the DSM-IV-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), translated from the revision of the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatry Association.

ADHD diagnosis

Diagnosis is difficult due to the complexity of the clinical picture. However, it is also difficult to distinguish between normal, age-appropriate behavior patterns with symptoms of illness. For a well-founded suspicion, the following conditions should be met:

  • Clear expression of the behavioral problems
  • over a period of more than six months
  • in at least two areas (family, school, kindergarten, ...)
  • with first indications already in preschool age
  • and deviations from age-related development

With this free ADHD test you can determine in the first step whether there is a reasonable suspicion. If the suspicion is confirmed, we recommend visiting a specialized pediatrician, child psychologist or child psychiatrist.
