Is it purely a matter of physical well-being and if so, in what way?

According to the World Health Organization, health is "A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not just the absence of illness or ailment."

With this in mind, the definition of health not only includes the state of one's own body, but also includes the mind and social relationships.

In English is the word health (Health) of whole, so ,all' derived. Health thus implies wholeness, the healthy person is a harmonious unity of body, mind and soul.

The old high German original word gisunt includes the meanings "Happy, good, intact". Happiness and health are thus probably also closely and reciprocally related. Health is not only necessary for personal happiness, but also vice versa: Personal happiness makes you healthy!

Also the health concept of humedica encompasses more than the purely physical level. Certainly the physical healing stands for humedica-Doctors in the first place, especially in disaster response, but as soon as an individual is treated, this person counts as a whole, with his feelings and his story.

Numerous reports of the humedica-Emergency workers testify that unbelievable suffering, in addition to bandages, always calls for a hug, a conversation and an open ear. The plaster of the soul and actual wound care go hand in hand.

“In a disaster (...) thousands of people are dependent on help. Even so, we try to always focus on the person who is standing in front of us. In addition to classical medicine, this person also needs attention, a prayer or simply a place where they can talk about what they have experienced "also explains humedica- Rescue worker Judith Kühl.

On World Health Day 2014 we wish you from the bottom of our hearts: health for body, mind and soul!
