Of wishes and curses -
A journey into the world of fairies, witches and wizards

An exhibition for the whole family
from 10/25/2017 to 03/18/2018

Wishes - there are fulfilled, unfulfilled, and unfulfillable wishes, but also good and bad wishes. In fairy tales, wishes are mostly associated with sorcery and witchcraft, with magical objects or good and bad fairies.

In the special exhibition "From Wishes and Curses", the Augsburg Puppet Theater Museum brings its visitors closer to the multifaceted world of wishes between fairytale ideas and everyday life.

Exhibits from the Augsburger Puppenkiste, national puppet theater from Bautzen, Schwäbisch Hall, Munich or Krailling, as well as international lenders from Great Britain, Austria and Spain tell of cursed princesses, cursed fish princes or children who dream their way into the land of wishes. Wishes and curses have always been associated with certain ideas about miracles, belief, magic, witchcraft and sorcery. This is illustrated by exhibits from the Hamburg witch archive.

The museum receives scientific support for this special exhibition from Dr. Klaus Wolf, Professor of German Literature and Language of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Age with a focus on Bavaria, at the University of Augsburg.

With the new special exhibition on the subject of "Wishes and Curses", the Augsburg Puppet Theater Museum invites its visitors to deal with stories about wishes. It is about congratulations, Christmas wishes, everyday wishes, but also unfulfilled wishes that many people cannot fulfill.

So that some wishes can come true, the Augsburger Kasperl and the Sams have come up with something very special: "Kasperl and Sams help!"

Visit them in the Augsburg Puppet Theater Museum "Die Kiste".

"When wishing still helped" - a special kind of fairy tale hour

Illustrated stories to listen to and participate in with the Storyteller Ingeborg Neldner for the whole family.

Kasperl and Sams help!

Kasperl and Sams are supporting the great and important work of the "Card Index of Need" during the current special exhibition "Von Wünschungen und Verünschungen".

Together with their museum visitors, the two would like to raise the highest possible amount of money between October 2017 and March 2018. You want to help fulfill wishes that are quite normal for many people, but not feasible for some.

For this action, the Puppet of the Augsburger Puppenkiste and the Sams have many wishful points ready for the museum visitors on the face, on the clothes and in the hands. Museum visitors are allowed to take these desired points with them, because the donation account of the "Kartei der Not" is located on them.

Help Help! Support Kasperl and Sams in their project!

If every visitor to the museum donates ONLY 1 € to the "Kartei der Not", wishes can come true ...
